Monday 11 to Friday 15 August 2008 The Fourth International Conference on the Biology and Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels will be held in Cape Town, South Africa over the five-day period Monday 11 to Friday 15 August 2008. As for the first three conferences in the series, there will be opportunities for both oral and poster presentations, dealing with all aspects of the biology and conservation of procellariiform birds, as well as for special-interest workshops and round-table discussions. Persons intending to attend who may wish to hold a workshop or round-table should contact the Local Organizing Committee at the e-mail address below with their proposals. A day pelagic trip to view albatrosses and petrels at sea off the Cape Peninsula is being planned for the weekend immediately after the conference. The venue will be the Breakwater Lodge in the Waterfront area of the city. It is recommended that delegates stay in the lodge (www.proteahotels.com/breakwaterlodge), which offers budget accommodation in the same building complex as the conference venue, or in nearby hotels in the Waterfront.
