Accommodation
We have block-booked accommodation for delegates at two hotels within 200 m of the conference venue. Please note, however, that we cannot make a booking on your behalf: conference attendees are requested to make their own accommodation bookings and arrangements - please download the reservation form . Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and so we encourage delegates not to delay but to make their reservations as soon as possible so as to take advantage of this excellent offer. Alternatively, there are a number of other hotels (from budget to five-star), guest houses and backpacker-style lodges in the general vicinity. Make enquiries through your travel agent or at www.tourismcapetown.co.za.

Meals
Luncheons and dinners will be to conference delegate’s own accounts. Economical buffet-style light lunches will be available in the Breakwater Lodge close to the conference room. There are many themed restaurants in the Waterfront dockside area within close walking distance of the Breakwater Lodge for evening meals. Information (map and restaurant guide) on the Waterfront will be included in the package received at registration. For a foretaste go to www.waterfront.co.za.
Information on the evening welcome function on Monday the 11th and closing dinner on Friday the 15th will be made available by the time of registration.
Climate
Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate with a winter-rainfall regime. In August temperatures should be in the range of a maximum 18 to a 8 minimum 8 ºC and it could rain. Dress for the conference and all associated events will be “smart casual”, which is acceptable in all Cape Town restaurants. If you plan to go on the pelagic excursion bring suitable clothes for it (including a windcheater/rain jacket, a hat and closed shoes) as well as a high-factor sun screen.
Footnote
The Conference Organizers look forward to welcoming you to South Africa’s “Mother City” at the tip of Africa and doing their best to ensure your visit and experiences will be ones to treasure.
