| Meeting flights and transport to conference venue It is intended to meet delegate’s incoming flights at Cape Town International Airport and provide private transport at no charge to the Breakwater Lodge during the weekend prior to the conference. For this service, arrival details (delegate’s name, arrival date, arrival time, flight number and whether arriving on an international or a domestic flight) should be sent to the organizers at least one week before the conference commences. It is possible that delegates may have to wait for up to an hour or so for their lift to the Breakwater Lodge if several flights arrive over a short time period (but all delegates who have requested lifts will be met in the arrivals halls by greeters with their names on sign boards). Alternatively, both the international and domestic arrivals halls at Cape Town International Airport offer shuttle bus services to hotels, as well as numerous car-hire facilities. If you wish to hire a vehicle at the airport on arrival (or later) it is recommended that you book this through your travel agent in advance of your arrival. Note that in South Africa we drive on the left of the road, with right-hand drive vehicles. It is best to state whether you wish an automatic or not as most (and all small) hire cars will have non-automatic transmission. |
